About The Position
Elder Rides & More LLC is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our growing team as Wheelchair Minivan Drivers. This part-time position is ideal for those who possess excellent driving skills and have a genuine interest in working with the elderly population. As a driver, you will be responsible for assisting clients in reaching their various appointments throughout Kent County and the surrounding areas. The nature of this role requires flexibility, as your daily schedule will vary based on the rides planned for that day. You will be expected to pick up a single passenger at a time in a company van, ensuring they are securely fastened into the vehicle before transporting them to their destination. In addition to driving, you will be required to perform some physical tasks, such as lifting up to 60 lbs and bending or reaching to secure wheelchairs in the van. Basic computer skills are necessary for using a mobile computer tablet and mobile phone to manage schedules and communicate effectively. Time management skills are crucial, as you will need to prioritize tasks and problem-solve in unique situations that may arise during your shifts. A clean driving record and a valid Michigan driver's license are mandatory for this position. While a medical background is not required, any knowledge in this area would be considered a plus. We are looking for trustworthy, cheerful, and energetic individuals who are committed to providing a friendly and safe ride for our clients.
