Role and Team Reporting to the Body Shop or designated Manager, perform full and partial wheel repairs. Maintain high standards for efficiency and observe all safety requirements. Perform all additional duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to use tools such as grinders, sanders, lathe, plastic scrapers, electric sanders, drills, buffers and air blowers
  • High attention to detail
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a high performing, production environment
  • High School or GED preferred
  • 1 year of experience in wheel repair or paint and body
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license that meets requirements
  • May be required to provide sufficient tools to perform the job
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Remove cosmetic surface damage including curb rash, gouges, scratches, and chips through a preparation process that includes the use of power and manual tools to grind and sand the imperfections to a factory specification condition.
  • Surface prep, mask, color match, refinish, and buff as required to factory standards
  • Blending, polishing, touch-up, and other techniques may also be utilized to restore wheels to pre-damage standards
  • Removal of a wheel or both wheel and tire may be necessary
  • Communicate with other technicians to meet production goals and customer standards
  • Clean equipment to ensure proper maintenance
  • Assist with general shop cleanliness and organization
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all. Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment.
  • Resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise management of all serious complaints or incidents.
  • Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Inform the Body Shop Supervisor or Manager of all equipment breakdowns and maintenance immediately.
  • Promote and follow safety policies.
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
