The position involves executing analyses for the monthly and quarterly close cycles for internal and external reporting financials. The individual will represent the department to management, external audiences, and auditors. Responsibilities include performing comparative analysis for Public Service commissions (PSCs) and Federal Regulatory reports to ensure accuracy and compliance, as well as documenting the methodology utilized for various regulatory filings such as the FERC FORM 2 filing. The role also requires reviewing existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping to implement approved changes. Key functions include managing the Fixed Asset subledger unitization/non-unitization, processing completion notices, running AFUDC (capitalized interest calculation), and ensuring cost of removal matches the reserve rates established in the depreciation study. The individual will monitor Construction Work in Progress dollars, perform accounting and regulatory research, and present findings in cross-functional meetings while complying with the company’s SOX 404 controls.
