About The Position

Kleinfelder is seeking a Wetland Scientist / Ecologist to join their Environmental team in Atlanta, GA. This role involves fieldwork and participation in natural resource surveys, technical writing, permitting, and regulatory compliance activities for various clients in the energy, transportation, and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will primarily conduct wetland delineations, environmental inspections, endangered species surveys, and habitat assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Biological or Ecological Science, or Environmental Policy.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the Southeast US.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in a relevant field of study.
• Experience with wetland delineations according to USACE and state protocols.
• GA Soil and Water Conservation Commission Level 1A inspector certification.
• Experience using GIS for environmental assessments.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including wetland delineations and environmental inspections during construction.
• Participate in natural resource surveys and habitat assessments.
• Prepare permit documents and environmental reports in collaboration with senior staff.
• Conduct analyses and data collection/sampling for environmental investigations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and assist in permitting processes.
