The West Side Bazaar Program Manager at the Westminster Economic Development Initiative (WEDI) is responsible for overseeing the business incubation program, ensuring that business owners receive quality technical assistance and support. This role involves developing policies, maintaining effective communication with program participants, and promoting the success of the business owners engaged in the program. The position requires on-site presence at the West Side Bazaar with some flexibility for remote work.

  • Oversee and promote the success of business owners engaged in WEDI's business incubation program.
  • Work with all owners to formalize plans for success, aiming to graduate each owner within a three-year timeframe.
  • Regularly communicate with all owners to ensure program effectiveness and address questions and concerns.
  • Create and maintain checklists, applications, and documents that support onboarding and progress tracking of owners.
  • Review WSB applicants and maintain contact with waitlisted or pending applicants, providing regular updates.
  • Lead the development and implementation of technical assistance courses, mentoring, coaching, and other relevant services.
  • Promote participation of owners in WEDI-led revenue-generating catering and events services.
  • Maintain awareness of events and offerings at the WSB.
  • Promote collaborative relationships with WSB/WEDI partners, customers, and the media.
  • Maintain SOPs to promote effectiveness and transparency of program expectations and activities.
  • Promote an engaging and active WSB website and social media presence.
  • Participate in WEDI staff events and related team-building activities.
  • 3 years of management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience in the restaurant industry
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience starting and operating a restaurant or retail store in Buffalo
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Basic understanding of the WNY small business ecosystem
