About The Position

Responsible for teaching assigned adult education high school credit diploma courses at WERACE by implementing the CCS in planning geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting. Develop and plan lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students enrolled in the class.

Requirements

• Knowledge of adult learner and alternative educational methods and have the ability to apply these methods for adult, at-risk teens and multicultural students
• Ability to teach students of diverse abilities and backgrounds and overcome barriers to success in a multi-level class
• Ability to relate well to different groups of students of different ages and ability levels
• Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with software programs
• Ability to use a variety of audio-visual equipment
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff
• Ability and desire to enthusiastically foster a love of learning by students
• Exceptional computer skills and be familiar with software programs

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepares relevant and practical class lessons and monitors student's performance
• Implement a variety of instructional delivery methods, that include group or individualized instruction as well as computer programs that help students make learning gains
• Creates a climate that encourages and supports learning
• Complete and maintain appropriate student registration, attendance, and assessment records, and ensure timely submission
• Responsible for effective classroom management that enhances student learning
• Understands, models, and teaches legal and ethical practices regarding information and educational technology
• Performs other tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the Director or Facilitator of Adult Education
• Participate in curriculum development

• Compensation for ½ Credit classes (24 live teaching hours): $1,326
• Compensation for 1.0 Credit classes (48 live teaching hours): $2,652
• Compensation for Weekend Seminar classes: $1,640
