About The Position

Wheat Ridge was founded during the 1859 Gold Rush as a rest stop for miners and later named for its golden wheat fields. Requirements

Knowledge of principles, practices, therapeutic methods, and techniques fitting wellness service.
General knowledge of the massage therapy, reflexology, Reiki, acupuncture, and/or other wellness therapies.
Skilled in public relations
Follow instructions, remain current on the trends of the industry, and communicate effectively to the participants
Analyze situations quickly and determine proper courses of action to be taken and work with little or no supervision.
Certification from a nationally recognized massage, reflexology or acupuncture therapy school as applies to position applying for.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR, AED and First Aid certifications are required at the time of hire. If applicable, must acquire and maintain State of Colorado Massage Therapy license and City of Wheat Ridge business license at own expense.

Previous instructional experience preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments.
Maintain health history on clients and update prior to each session.
Maintain client confidentiality and sensitivity to age and gender related to issues during interaction.
Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
Responsible for scheduling client appointments and maintaining own calendar and client list
Responsible for rescheduling clients when necessary and communicating room usage to assigned supervisor.
Maintain professional appearance at all times.
Provide a safe environment for all participants; enforce all general building policies if applicable; complete any necessary reports and forms, i.e., Accident Reports and Health Forms.
Maintain all sanitation or sterilization of equipment, room, and other areas as necessary.
Responsible for the organization of wellness studio, client’s files, and equipment. Required to set-up and break-down materials used for services if necessary. Perform other related work as required and assigned.
Other duties assigned as appropriate by the position.
