Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Health Related field required, Bachelor of Science in health related or gerontology field, preferred, with coursework that minimally includes: Exercise Prescription, Exercise Physiology, Gerontology, Health Promotion/Education, and Wellness
  • Must have prior experience in exercise programming and working with the older adult population as it relates to exercise and wellness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain, within the first 6 months of employment, the following certifications: CPR Basic Water Safety Certified Pool Operator License (CPO) Understand the dynamics of a pool pump room (backwashing, filling chlorine tanks, and their proper ratios, PPE equipment, Pool & Spa Chemical Feeders and how to change a tube assembly. Understanding of an automated chemical feeder system and how to calibrate. Know how to properly clean/sanitize. change injectors
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Ability to produce basic reports, using technology
  • Personally reflect an image of wellness and live out the six dimensions of wellness
  • Must possess a familiarity with the relationship between exercise and other wellness programming and the older adult.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and direction to The Connection team so that goals and objectives are met
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for the department
  • Maintains complete knowledge of the basic operations of all areas of department, and when called upon, staffs department area when schedule dictates
  • Leads group exercise classes on land and in water
  • Other duties, as requested by Supervisor
