About The Position

The New York Post is seeking a full-time Reporter for the Wellness section, responsible for delivering engaging health-related content across various platforms. This role requires a self-starter with strong health contacts and the ability to simplify complex information into relatable articles. The Reporter will cover breaking health news, produce features, and analyze health trends, all while adhering to tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
• At least three years of experience as a health reporter
• Exceptional writing skills with a keen understanding of SEO principles
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh perspectives and angles on health topics
• Strong knowledge of health trends, research methodologies, and data analysis techniques
• Proficiency in editing and self-publishing processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to publication guidelines
• Experience using analytics tools to inform content strategy and identify audience interests
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• Proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS

Responsibilities

• Craft compelling SEO optimized health news articles, meeting tight deadlines
• Produce a variety of content, including aggregated pieces, quick hits, and longer reported features
• Generate a continuous stream of pitches with timely news pegs and fresh angles
• Pitch story ideas off trending health topics on TikTok and other social media platforms
• Produce lively, informative and well-sourced copy on deadline
• Analyze various health studies and statistics, translating them into engaging and understandable content
• Stay abreast of health trends and information, ensuring content relevance
• Employ data-driven insights and analytics to propose strategic content initiatives
• Edit and self-publish articles with precision and adherence to publication standards
