About The Position
The Wellness Nurse at Senior Living Residences Marlboro plays a crucial role in the overall care and support of our senior residents. This position involves assisting the Resident Care Director in managing, directing, and developing a comprehensive care program tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. The Wellness Nurse is responsible for ensuring that all care protocols are followed and that residents receive the highest quality of care. This includes not only direct patient care but also overseeing the training and management of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) who work closely with residents. The Wellness Nurse serves as a vital liaison between residents, their families, community agencies, physicians, and other care providers, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care. In addition to direct care responsibilities, the Wellness Nurse will engage in various administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate health records, monitoring residents' health status, and implementing care plans. The role requires a compassionate approach, as the Wellness Nurse will be interacting with elderly individuals, many of whom may have Alzheimer's or other cognitive impairments. The position is designed for individuals who are not only skilled in nursing but also possess a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological needs of seniors. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on creating a safe, home-like atmosphere for both residents and staff. The Wellness Nurse will also participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including training to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner, enhancing their skills and knowledge in geriatric care.
