About The Position

The Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for providing high-quality, customer-focused wellness programs that enhance the health and well-being of residents. This role involves engaging residents in the development and implementation of various wellness initiatives, including health promotion, lifelong learning, and social/community engagement programs, all aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate's degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, Recreation Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience leading individual and group exercise programs.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, coordinating, and managing health promotion and community engagement programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults in a senior living environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Certification as a group exercise instructor from a recognized certifying body is required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement required within 3 months after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Engage residents in identifying, developing, implementing, coordinating, and leading wellness programs that address their needs.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and lead health promotion programs, including exercise classes, nutrition classes, stress management classes, and health fairs.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and lead lifelong learning programs, such as computer/technology classes, arts & crafts classes, and book clubs.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and lead social/community engagement programs, including birthday celebrations, special events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Service Coordinator and other associates to offer wellness programs that meet residents' needs.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community-based organizations to enhance wellness program offerings.
  • Assess residents' satisfaction with wellness programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Identify and assess wellness program outcomes and implement improvements.
  • Transport residents to off-site locations for various activities using the van/bus.
  • Maintain the Fitness Center and conduct related activities.
  • Coordinate the Memory Care program and its schedule of activities.
  • Supervise programming assistants and the transportation department.
  • Collaborate with PVM's Director of Wellness to ensure quality and safety in wellness programs and equipment.
  • Work with the PVM Foundation to secure funding for wellness programs.
  • Develop and implement a data management system for wellness-related records.
  • Design and distribute promotional materials, reports, and presentations.
  • Plan and coordinate community events with the leadership team.
  • Follow established policies and procedures.
