About The Position

Wellness Coach Position Overview To educate, motivate, empower clients on their individualized goals for lifestyle change. The successful candidate will coach participants in areas of health, weight and lifestyle management, prevention and risk reduction to help them improve their overall health and reach their personal health goals.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to design, personalize and execute a variety of action plans
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to nurture and empathize with member needs
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Proficient in technical skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Flexibility in meeting client scheduling requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Background in counseling, nutrition or wellness fields preferred
  • Medical Assistant experience helpful
  • Experience coaching others with respect to best practices
  • Knowledge of managing performance, reviewing performance and providing counseling
  • Knowledge and/or experience in weight loss/weight management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coaching clients on individual weight loss and wellness goals
  • Personalizing suggestions to maximize healthy behavior and lifestyle changes based on client needs
  • Providing support and motivation to keep clients on track with their personalized goals
  • Encouraging and empowering clients to take charge of their specific health, weight management and lifestyle goals on a sustainable long-term basis
  • Providing individualized nutritional and behavioral counseling to clients using established protocols
  • Educating clients on skills to face the challenges of weight loss and counsel towards behavior changes in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle
  • Monitoring client weight loss progress, offering suggestions in program and food options for optimum success
  • Performing activities designed to track improvements in health such as weigh-ins, blood pressure, pulse rate and BMI
  • Completing reports on progress and compiling metrics as needed
  • Performing additional duties as identified and assigned by management
