About The Position

In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes, the Wellness and Recreation team manages multiple fitness and recreation facilities and coordinates a variety of on- and off-campus recreation and wellness education programming. Alongside professional staff and in collaboration with other team members, the Wellness and Recreation video content creator is responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing video content and other forms of digital media for on and off campus Wellness and Recreation programs.

Requirements

• Proficiency in video production, sound design, linear editing, and basic graphics
• Open Friday availability throughout the semester
• Prior experience and/or completed courses in film
• Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to experience initiative and work independently
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, copier, telephones
• Minimum of a 2.5 GPA

Responsibilities

• Work alongside various department staff to develop, and complete video content for Panther Sports Tournaments and off campus recreation trips including but not limited to hikes, surfing, skiing/snowboarding, overnight camping trips, immersive well-being experiences as well as any other recreation programs designated.
• Promotes a positive image of Chapman University student life by creation of professional video content
• Attend programs as needed to film event
• Film dynamic B-roll content to capture holistic well-being context
• Save all files to student share folder with the proper file structure
• Act as experts in all steps of the video editing process
• Assist Student Engagement in upholding all University policies
• Assist in other duties as assigned
