About The Position

The Wellfield Technician is responsible for the overall safe operation, maintenance, and performance of a landfill gas wellfield. This role involves operating the wellfield during assigned shifts efficiently to maintain compliance with site-specific Title V Operating Permit, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and safety and environmental standards. The technician will maintain daily logs, obtain readings, and ensure adherence to safety policies while using personal protective equipment. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean workspace, writing reports, performing landfill tuning duties, and assisting with operational planning of construction projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Intermediate Electrical, Chemical, and Mechanical experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in landfill gas processing, chemical plant operations, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of process control systems related to landfill gas collection.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow established procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient in using computers, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check, physical, hearing, and DOT drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in landfill gas processing or power plant operations.
  • Any technical certification or training.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the wellfield during assigned shifts efficiently and productively.
  • Maintain compliance with site-specific Title V Operating Permit and SOPs.
  • Keep daily logs and obtain readings as per prescribed standards.
  • Follow all plant and landfill safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace including plant building and grounds.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Perform landfill tuning duties and adjust wellfield to maximize gas quantity and quality.
  • Maintain wellfield database and logs for regulatory compliance.
  • Document wellhead readings and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Assist supervisory staff with operational planning of construction projects.
  • Respond to callouts in a timely manner and work overtime as required.
  • Ensure analytical equipment calibrations and recordkeeping are current.
