The Wellfield Tech I is the primary individual responsible for the sustained operation of the mine’s production and restoration wellfields. The Wellfield Tech I ensures that the wellfield operates in accordance with the operating plan developed by the Superintendent. The Wellfield Tech I is responsible for the following: Ensures all production-related equipment is operated to achieve the maximum sustainable production flowrate in a balanced manner. Including but not limited to SOP – Wellfield Operations, Pipeline Breaks/Leaks Collects all relevant wellfield operating data and records such data in the Wellfield Balance Sheet and Daily Shift Notes and uses the Wellfield Balance Sheet to adjust the injection well flowrates to maintain the maximum production well flowrate without excess injection. Including but not limited to SOP – Wellfield Data Entry into Computer Ensures oxygen is added to injection wells in the correct amounts as specified by the Wellfield Balance Sheet. Including but not limited to SOP – Oxygen Pressure and Rotometer Setting Prepares numbered sample collection containers; and collects and delivers wellfield samples to the laboratory Performs routine wellfield maintenance in a timely manner; including, meter repair, leak repair, pressure gauge replacement, and other small repairs as needed. Assists, the Wellfield Maintenance Tech in the completion of larger repair/replacement activities. Including but not limited to SOP – Gluing PVC Pipe, Poly Pipe, Connecting PVC Pipe & Fittings Monitors the operation of wellfield bag filtration equipment and changes bags when necessary to prevent a loss of injection flow due to bag plugging. To ensure an adequate supply of replacement bags, bag acidizing and washing will be accomplished as required. Including but not limited to SOP – Wellfield Bag Filtration Participates in the construction of wellfield expansion facilities. Follows all Federal, State, and Company safety rules and regulations; and by maintaining a clean work area, ensures a safe working area. Including but not limited to SOP – Emergency Repairs in the Event of a Lateral or Trunk Line Break
