Well Test Operator is responsible for monitoring and reporting on production and other pertinent well information and provides maintenance on production equipment. Under general supervision, this position prepares, maintains, and submits daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used, etc. Ensure quality control and safe operations during all aspects of the operation.

  • Prepare, maintain, and submit daily reports and records of daily gas and/or liquid volume, well pressure and volume of chemicals used.
  • Ensure quality control and safe operations during all aspects of the operation.
  • Learn and fulfill all job service requirements, including reporting well production data and incident reporting.
  • Draft thorough and accurate Job Safety Analysis (JSA) identifying job tasks and associated hazards.
  • Observe all safety rules at all times and keep workspaces clean and free of hazards.
  • Complete and update JSA as the situation changes.
  • Follow specific written Well Testing Operating Procedures.
  • Proactively maintain equipment.
  • Care for and clean company issued tools.
  • Take ownership for assigned well tests while managing time.
  • Understand customer downhole goals and impacts from well testing decisions.
  • Report accurate hourly data or required customer frequency.
  • Communicate and annotate detailed shift changes.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in rigging up/down test equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for jobs and load out.
  • Perform other duties as required for which the employee is qualified and trained.
  • Field experience and competence in the use & repair of manifolds, plug catchers, test separators, sand traps, flare stacks and other flowback/well testing related equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
  • Energy service experience helpful.
  • Ability to be a strong team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a company vehicle according to TGNR’s insurance guidelines.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions and mitigate and/or report.
  • General knowledge of safety systems.
  • General oilfield or gas experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED a plus.
