About The Position

Noble is hiring for a Well Control Training Specialist in our Corporate Office in Houston, Texas. The Well Control Instructor is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of well control training programs in classroom and simulator-based environments. This role serves as a subject matter expert in well control delivers accredited IADC well control training up through Level 4, supporting the development and competency of drilling personnel. In addition to well control instruction, the role will assist in the delivery of Drilling instruction and Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) courses utilizing classroom materials and cyber chair drilling simulators. Training is delivered primarily in person at NobleAdvances in Houston, Texas, with occasional course delivery at other domestic and international locations. When not delivering courses, the Technical Training Department utilizes a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • IADC WellSharp accreditation for Levels 1-4.
  • Strong drilling process knowledge, including well construction and well control principles
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical training courses in classroom and simulator environments
  • Ability to travel internationally and offshore, including meeting all applicable medical, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and learner engagement skills

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified in facilitation techniques
  • Drilling rig operational experience
  • Instructor experience using Drilling Systems DS‑6000 Cyber Drilling Simulator
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM) instructor experience
  • Experience supporting or delivering Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) training
  • Experience working with simulator-based or HMI-driven training technologies

Responsibilities

  • Deliver IADC-accredited well control training (Levels 2–4) in classroom and simulator environments
  • Facilitate learning using simulation technology, including cyber drilling simulators where applicable
  • Assist in the delivery of Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and Drilling Practices and Crew Resource Management (CRM) courses
  • Ensure training delivery complies with IADC standards and organizational requirements
  • Evaluate learner performance and provide constructive feedback to support competency development
  • Review training materials and recommend updates or improvements based on learner needs, operational changes, or industry best practices
  • Collaborate with Operations, HSE, HR, and Learning & Development teams to align training with operational and safety objectives
  • Support simulator facilities during training delivery, including coordination on software updates or troubleshooting with vendors as required
  • Maintain instructor accreditation and remain current with industry standards, regulations, and drilling technologies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Learning & Development organization
