About The Position

The part-time Welding Technology Instructor will explain welding technology theory to students in the FTCC program, instruct and demonstrate welding techniques, and critique weld joints and provide feedback to students. Will also include classroom management, grading, and attendance.

Requirements

Two (2) years experience or Diploma in Welding Technology, AWS D1.1 Certification.
Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or higher. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.

Responsibilities

Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean.
Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
Construct, administer, and grade examinations.
Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
Attend specialized training activities that enhance job performance and foster a welcoming environment.
Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology.
Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize equitable student outcomes.
Demonstrated practice of fostering welcoming environments in the classroom and among your team.
