About The Position

Tallahassee State College is excited to announce a full-time opening for the Welding Technology Instructor in the Division of Workforce Development. We're looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community. As Full-time Welding Technologies Instructor, you'll play a key role in collaboratively leading the Welding programs, creating an ideal learning environment, maintaining an appropriate balance of discipline, and being able to transfer knowledge to students, while staying abreast of evolving regulations within the industry. The scheduled work hours will be 40 hours per week during the day and some evenings. Requirements

  • At least a recognized high school diploma or equivalency (preference will be given to those that also possess a vocational/technical certificate in Welding).
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in the field or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a certified teacher in a welding program.
  • Must be knowledgeable in welding equipment and techniques, dependable, highly responsible, independent, self-starting, and have the ability to positively interact with varying populations.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering welding instruction to a diverse student population, preparing them for AWS certification, managing course materials, supporting student learning, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and assisting with program logistics and job placement.
  • Assisting when needed in the recruitment of students, marketing the program, and identifying community partnership and funding opportunities.
  • Working with other Welding instructors to identify maintenance and repair needs to determine further action and equipment logging.
