About The Position

The Welding Technician I operates Tig and Mig welders, ensuring the quality of all welds while maintaining a safe working environment and contributing to team efforts. The role involves facilitating the fusing of production materials by welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, understanding various weld form symbols on blueprints, and welding both vertical and horizontal plane geometry. The technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment, examining work pieces for defects, and adhering to ISO and FDA regulations. Additionally, the technician maintains a clean work area and attends safety training to uphold a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required, normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
  • Ability to become qualified to perform Lock‐Out/Tag‐Out procedures.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, up to 80% of the day.
  • 2-4 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the fusing of production materials by Tig and Mig welding mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Understands various weld form symbols on blueprints and the size of fillet forms.
  • Welds both vertical and horizontal plane geometry.
  • Understands various edge preps before welding.
  • Ensures the quality of all welds by using and maintaining the proper equipment.
  • Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Adheres to ISO and FDA regulations.
  • Maintains a safe working environment by attending safety training and cleaning the work area.
  • Contributes to team effort and handles other duties as assigned.
