About The Position

The overall responsibility of the Welding Specialist is to join parts using high heat and specialized equipment. Welders must interpret blueprints, prepare materials, and ensure strong, precise welds that meet safety and structural standards.

Requirements

  • Must possess ASME welding certification.
  • Must be dependable and self-motivated.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Be able to contribute to and support the existence of a positive work environment.
  • Can pay attention to the operations of the machinery.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
  • Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.
  • Ability to obtain Manchester Tank's weld certification.

Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
  • Perform variations of MIG and submerged arc welding on a variety of components on pressure vessels.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as handheld screw guns, drill guns, and grinders.
  • Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding tools.
  • Manage the operation of all types of machines and work to ensure that they are well-maintained.
  • Complete the first article inspection before starting run.
  • Inspect and test cylinders for visual or structural defects.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Maintain tools and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
  • Look for opportunities to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
