Requirements

  • Strong commitment to quality and working safely.
  • Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of welding processes and techniques (i.e., MIG, TIG, etc.).
  • Must have strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and deadline driven.
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to interact with Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company’s performance.
  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PPI Welding Certification
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds of equipment with assist available.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection required where posted.
  • Welding helmet, leather gloves, and welding jacket/sleeves required while performing welding duties.
  • Additional PPE may be required when working in other areas.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently complete tasks in all areas of the welding department.
  • Weld parts together using single or multi-pass welds.
  • Tack/weld/fabricate and repair equipment and tooling.
  • Assist with training new welders within the department.
  • Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
  • Work with the Quality team and Supervisors to identify and correct weld defects or other welding-related issues.
  • Use and understand various paperwork, including but not limited to schedules, prints, & tech standards.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments within the work area.
  • Regular, consistent attendance.
