About The Position

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network. OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for the day to day activities, workflow, and daily coordination of assigned area. Team Lead – Robotics position requires a complete understanding of robotic programming, welding processes, operation and creation of jigs and fixtures, kanban system, weldments, material flow and overall operations in order to organize a work team, train new team members, examine work results, and correct variation to the processes. This position will be responsible for providing a safe work environment, ensuring standard work is being performed, maintaining 5S levels, identifying and resolving quality issues, and filling in for absent team members on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include the oversight and hands-on integration of automated solutions, creation and update of robotic programs, general upkeep of programs, maintenance of robotic welding systems and computerized numerical control systems, general upkeep of automation equipment, and assists with diagnoses and repairs. At times, this position may require support after standard working hours to assist with trouble shooting robotics issues that arise on other shifts. It requires leadership skills to conduct one-on-one training, provide recognition and achieve harmony with team members. This position also requires problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as labor and material shortages, tool and equipment problems, etc. while maintaining productivity. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalence.
  • Minimum of 5 years welding experience and 5 years robotic programming experience.
  • Experience with creation of robotic welding programs from start to finish.
  • Experience with design and creation of welding jigs and fixtures.
  • Experience with general welder maintenance and upkeep.
  • PC literate with experience operating Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and hands-on integration of automated solutions
  • Creation, update, and oversight of robotic welding programs and overall performance to plan
  • General upkeep of programs
  • Maintenance of robotic welding systems and computerized numerical control systems

  • Assists with diagnoses and repairs
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities in welding areas; coordinates workflow, training, and team motivation.
  • Ensures systematic, efficient and effective material and part flow in alignment with fabrication’s flow of cut and formed parts; makes improvement recommendations and works closely with fabrication lead to resolve any disruptions of material flow.
  • Maintains accordance with the Kanban program.
  • Supports area manager through the completion of post shift reports, coordination of time off, management of time tracking and inspection sheets, etc.
  • Actively participates in pre-shift meetings, leading stretches, and team member communication with Team Lead – Fabrication and second shift Weld/Fab – Lead.
  • Trains new TM’s, communicates company policies, teaches and demonstrates work routines.
  • Actively coordinates the area workload and team member assignments to ensure completion of work with a focus on continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency within the assigned area.
  • Leads and trains team members in all safety aspects including the ASV Emergency Action Plan and in areas as required (chassis cell, rail cell, weld cells etc.).
  • Provides support to other departments including Fabrication, Engineering, R&D, warehouse, Inventory and Production Control.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment; collection of inspections forms, hot work permits, maintain 5S monthly tracking, comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Participate in online and onsite trainings made available to TM’s.
  • Voice for team members; work with team members on quality issues and raise concerns to the appropriate parties.
  • Carry company provided radio during shift.
  • Follow standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Collect, record and approve absence request forms; maintaining compliance with ASV employee handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned.
