The welding production supervisor's primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the daily operations of the welding production department, ensuring smooth workflow, adherence to quality standards, and timely completion of tasks. This involves supervising staff, allocating tasks, monitoring progress, addressing issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Must have a good understanding and knowledge about managing people, welding procedures, reading blueprints, and weld symbols. · Supervising and evaluating staff performance: This includes providing training, guidance, and feedback to employees to ensure they meet performance expectations. · Managing production schedules and workflow: This involves assigning tasks, tracking progress, and adjusting schedules as needed to meet deadlines and production goals. Accurate paperwork and ERP (Epicor) use. Manage work schedule, time tracking, attendance with the use of (Paylocity). · Ensuring quality standards and safety protocols: This includes implementing quality control measures, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. · Identifying and resolving production issues: This involves proactively addressing problems, implementing solutions, and implementing measures to prevent future issues. · Optimizing production processes and efficiency: This includes analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance productivity. · Maintaining records and preparing reports: This involves documenting production activities, tracking performance, and generating reports for management. · Communicating with other departments and management: This includes collaborating with other teams to coordinate production efforts and providing updates on progress. This position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing and has overall authority within the plant and hourly employees. Fill in as needed to cover vacations and absences by other plant supervisors including other shifts as needed. · Implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs): This involves ensuring that all employees follow established procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency. · Welding Knowledge and Required Skills Process: MIG (GMAW – Gas Metal Arc Welding), Blueprint Reading, Metal Fabrication, Capable of reading a tape measure, and weld symbols.
