Requirements

Previous experience in steel product manufactoring.
Able to pass a GMAW Weld Test.
Proficient in welding techniques with a solid understanding of welding principles.
High school diplmoa or equivalent.
Prior machine operation experience.
Ability to conduct thorough visual inspection of welded parts for quality and compliance.
Willingness to work a 3rd shift schedule (typically 10pm-6am)

Nice To Haves

Crane certifications or experience
At least one year of experience in SMAW welding in a production environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Competent with measuring tools.
Previous weld certifications (such as AWS)
Welding degree from an accredited technical college or equivalent experience in welding

Responsibilities

Welding Structural Parts: Read and interpret shop drawings to weld structural parts in accordance with Nucor Building Systems' weld procedures and quality standards.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, exhibiting a strong work ethic and positive personal and team safety attitudes.
Machine Operation: Operate welding machinery, including Submerged Arc Welders (SAW), and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and safely used.
Night Shift Commitment: Be committed to working the 3rd shift schedule (typically 10pm-6am) and willing to work overtime as required to meet production demands
Other Tasks as Assigned: Perform additional duties as directed by Production Supervisors and Group Leaders to support the overall production process.
