About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor teaches courses within the welding curriculum at the Niles, Michigan campus. Classes may be scheduled during the day or evening and will cover various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. The instructor is expected to promote active and collaborative learning through diverse teaching methods and to be accessible to students for inquiries.

Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector/Certified Welding Educator or Certified Welder.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in welding technology, certificate, or journeyman card.
  • Industry experience in welding.
  • Teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach effectively and responsibly using a variety of instructional methods.
  • Be accessible to students and respond timely to their inquiries.
  • Grade assignments and courses in accordance with the College's guidelines and timelines.
  • Utilize the College's learning management system (Moodle) to post assignments, attendance, and grades.
  • Provide the department with student performance data required for regular outcomes assessment.
  • Work comfortably and respectfully with diverse students and college populations.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor.
