About The Position

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Welding Inspector to join our Maryland Team in Owings Mills. This position offers the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most interesting projects in the area. Kleinfelder is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories, providing construction management, observation/inspection services, laboratory testing, and materials and forensic engineering. The role involves performing routine to complex inspection and testing of welding and steel construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree or equivalent desired.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• ICC Structural Welding Inspector certification.
• ICC Structural Steel & Bolting Special Inspector certification.

Nice To Haves

• AWS CWI certification.
• NDT Level II in UT certification.
• NDT Level II in MT certification.
• NDT Level II in PT certification.
• General knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of welding and steel construction materials.
• Interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active work projects.
• Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
• Bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and over 50 pounds using handling equipment.
• Operate heavy equipment as necessary.
• Maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles.
• Work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs.
