There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Welding Engineering Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Science/Materials Engineer/Metallurgy to work in our The Department of Materials Science and Manufacturing (MS&M) reporting to the Project Investigator. Idaho National Laboratory (INL) wants to bolster its current expertise in joining and welding of current and exotic materials. INL has traditionally excelled in the research, development and characterization of materials that support multiple types of advanced energy generation, storage, efficiency and security. You will need strong experience in joining and welding technologies, and the ability to utilize it for advanced manufacturing purposes. You are expected to support existing programs in fusion welding (arc, laser, etc.), including dissimilar metal/material joints. The applications for these welds typically focus on components in harsh environments (e.g., extremes of temperature, pressure, high strain rate applications, etc.) as found in energy generation (e.g., nuclear, fossil fuel, solar, etc.) as well as ballistic armor and blast protection applications. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
