The Welding/ Brazing Engineer will design and optimize welding and brazing processes for high-performance applications. Ensure compliance with industry standards and support cross-functional teams in manufacturing and quality assurance.
Design and implement welding and brazing procedures for various materials.
Develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Brazing Procedure Specifications (BPS).
Select appropriate filler materials, fluxes, and shielding gases.
Optimize heat input, joint design, and fixturing for repeatable results.
Conduct procedure qualification tests (PQRs) and ensure compliance with industry standards (AWS, ASME, ISO).
Perform metallurgical evaluations and non-destructive testing (NDT) such as radiography, ultrasonic, and dye penetrant.
Analyze microstructures and joint integrity post-weld/braze.
Maintain detailed records of welding and brazing activities, including inspection reports and traceability logs.
Ensure compliance with internal specifications and external regulatory standards.
Support audits and customer reviews with technical documentation.
Work with design and M&P engineers to ensure manufacturability of joints.
Support production teams with troubleshooting and training.
Interface with suppliers for material and equipment qualification.
Lead root cause investigations for weld/braze-related defects.
Implement corrective actions and process improvements.
Drive cost reduction and cycle time improvements through process innovation.
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
5-7 years of experience in welding and brazing.
Expertise in welding and brazing techniques and standards.
Experience with WPS, BPS, and PQR documentation.
Knowledge of NDT methods and metallurgical analysis.
Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams.
Familiarity with AWS, ASME, and ISO standards.
US Citizenship.
Ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.

Salary Range: $90,800.00-$121,100.00
