Under general supervision, applies appropriate welds to fabricate or repair compactors, containers and carts. The position involves performing minor repairs and applying basic welding processes, as well as conducting preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors. The role requires qualifications in various welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on a variety of materials. Safety checks on compactors and containers are also part of the responsibilities, along with completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software for documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times. The position may involve assisting senior welders in project work, performing service calls for compactor repair, and related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts. All work must be performed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and according to established safety procedures.
