About The Position

The Welder position at Marlen International involves using welding techniques to construct stainless steel food processing machinery. The role requires knowledge of machines and tools, as well as the ability to read blueprints and technical plans. Welders will perform routine maintenance, manage project timelines, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while working in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
• 3-5 years' experience in blueprint reading.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work overtime including some weekends when workload requires.

Responsibilities

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits while performing job functions.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc and gas metal arc.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating and material distortion.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using tools like straightedges and calipers.
• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Communicate potential problems to lead/manager.
• Ensure assembly tasks are completed within budget and on-time per schedule.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, complying with all quality and safety regulations.
• Seek continuous improvement in work processes and individual performance.
