PALFINGER is searching for an experienced Welder located in Trenton, NJ and reporting to the Install Supervisor. This position is responsible for performing welding needs in assigned areas of manufacturing or installation to make sub-assemblies, assemblies and/or support the welding requirements for mounting truck equipment safely and efficiently to specification following proper welding guidelines. It is also the responsibility of the Welder to ensure that all work being done is in accordance with good quality practices and adheres to the AWS Standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, along with 3+ years of welding experience and a strong mechanical background.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals, plus updating job documentation as needed.
  • Confident in sharing information one-on-one with team members to keep everyone on the same page.
  • Comfortable using solid geometry, trigonometry, and practical math like fractions, ratios, and percentages in daily tasks.
  • Able to follow instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form, using common sense to adapt and problem-solve.

Responsibilities

  • Use and read measuring, leveling, and squaring tools accurately within 1/16” and handle various hand and power tools like welding clamps, hammers, and impact guns.
  • Operate and maintain oxy/acetylene, carbon arc cutting, and MIG welding equipment safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret drawings, SOPs, and instructions to complete welding tasks on sub-assemblies and assemblies for truck equipment mounting.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and specification standards, and accurately complete all required documentation.
  • Care for all company tools in assigned work areas, follow safety and 5S standards, and suggest process improvements.
  • Meet physical demands, including lifting up to 60 lbs regularly, positioning parts for welding, and adhering to attendance policies.
