About The Position
The position involves preparing surfaces for welding, fitting parts, and welding piping and manifolds. The role requires cutting, grinding, drilling holes, and welding steel according to blueprint specifications. The candidate may also use a plasma cutter to cut I-beams and steel plates. Tack welding of scrap metal to outline is necessary to provide a jig for assembly. Additionally, the position requires positioning parts in a jig and using files, chisels, and grinders to prepare parts for welding. The candidate will also be responsible for annealing parts with an acetylene torch to remove stresses from welding.
