About The Position

Fronti Fabrications, a Chart Industries company located in Palmerton, PA, is seeking skilled welders. The position offers competitive wages starting at up to $32.00 per hour. The operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the expectation of overtime as needed. The role involves various welding tasks and responsibilities, ensuring high-quality standards are met at all times.

Requirements

• Certificate/degree in welding from a certified technical college or 12 months of professional welding experience
• Ability to use and interpret sub-assembly drawings
• Good dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Understanding of welding codes, techniques, and special instructions
• Ability to use measuring devices and basic math knowledge
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding processes on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals

Nice To Haves

• Experience with GTAW B-31.3 on aluminum pipe

Responsibilities

• Train and pass a minimum of 6G level GTAW
• Weld to x-ray quality and pass x-ray and dye penetrant checks when required
• Perform FCAW to ASME standards
• Weld with other processes and varied weldments and metals as warranted
• Work from drawings and specifications
• Identify material and markings for proper piece parts and identification codes
• Use proper Work Instructions and related specifications
• Perform fit-checks prior to final assembly and rework fitments as needed
• Ensure quality of weld joints and proper identification of welds
• Setup and operate welding machines for ideal conditions
• Perform minor maintenance on welding machines
• Set up and operate portable plasma cutter
• Prepare preheat prior to welding as per instructions
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and shop housekeeping
• Perform jobs from start to finish including cut/prep/fitting/welding
• Unload and load fabricated equipment or in-house materials
