Welder
About The Position
The Welder is responsible for installing and welding natural gas, steel pipelines, and fittings. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel in the field and within the department. The Gas Pipeline Welder is an integral position in the process of construction, maintenance, replacement, and repair of natural gas distribution infrastructure. This position performs various welding tasks associated with new construction, repair and maintenance of existing gas utility lines and related systems/equipment such as welding pipe casings, welding vault lids and pipe fittings, welding metal parts together, welding hot gas mains, repairing broken or cracked parts, filling holes, fabricating special parts and apparatus, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 1 year of welding experience.
- Competent in welding and cutting techniques.
Nice To Haves
- 3 years or more of welding experience.
- Stick welding certification.
- DOT Operator Qualification.
- Tapping experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate jobsite equipment safely.
- Perform welding of steel pipelines and fittings.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
