Set up and perform manual welding to repair castings to industry, internal and customer specifications using the GTAW weld process. Perform all upgrade operations as needed including set up, preheat, clamping, grinding, blending and visual inspection of welds, in order to restore castings to close tolerances determined by our customer standards. Work from Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), drawings, sketches and specifications using a variety of measuring tools to check tolerances and interpass / preheat temperatures. Produce NDT quality welds using .045 to .093" dia. weld rod. Use and maintain proper weld rod per alloy. Based on experience, assist in the development of new techniques for repair of castings. Perform TPM, adjustments, and assure calibrations are current on welding power source and related equipment. Maintain processes, procedures and records in accordance with Nadcap requirements.
