About The Position

Responsible for performing setup on all entry-level welding components that range from similar to dissimilar metals and alloys, requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique or involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller, more complicated weldments, where alignment, dimensions, and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards. Day Shift: Tuesday - Friday (5:00am - 3:30 pm) Mondays Off Compensation: $20 - $24/hr.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school.
  • or three to six months of related experience and/or training.
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions, read and interpret
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information in small groups of fellow Associates
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as a tape measure and occasionally, a dial caliber, plus welding, and torch equipment
  • Attention to all safety policies, programs, and practices is a must
  • Basic computer skills are needed for reviewing and performing shop orders.
  • This position works in a Manufacturing environment and requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear, and talk; use fingers and hands, with good hand and finger dexterity to handle or feel controls or products; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product.
  • Lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Tig welding 90% and mig welding 10% using multiple types of materials (steel, galvanized, and a range of stainless)
  • Welding teams of two Associates per project.
  • Properly set up welding machines
  • Preparation before Welding: 70% consists of ripping and trimming various specs of wire belts.
  • Clean welds to check for imperfections.
  • Accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, and general inspection requirements of metal chain drive belts.
  • Accurate interpretation of work orders and collaboration with co-workers and QA associates.
  • Work within the parameters of an estimate and work order.
  • Wire crimping and machine operating.
  • Training will be provided.
