About The Position

NABRICO Marine Products is searching for a safety-oriented Career Welder in
our Ashland City, TN barge plant.

NABRICO Marine Products, is part of NABRICO's Inland Barge Group, and is a
leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways.
NABRICO Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and
hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain,
coal, and aggregates. NABRICO Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that
carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is
the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily
on grain barges. Additionally, NABRICO Marine Products provides a full line of
deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches
for towboats and dock facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year FCAW (flux-core weld) experience
• Must demonstrate ability to satisfactorily pass vertical fillet (3F) and overhead fillet (4F) weld tests using FCAW
• Ability to understand weld size requirements
• Ability to understand weld size and quality acceptance requirements and criteria
• Must be able to perform welding work while wearing all required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a filtering face piece and/or tight fitting respirator
• May require working above ground (15 ft or more)
• Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects; comfortable with heights
• May require working in narrow or confined work spaces for extended periods of time
• May require extensive kneeling, bending, walking and/or standing for long periods of time
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Proficiently perform flat (1F), horizontal (2F), vertical (3F), and overhead (4F) fillet welds
• Inspect your own welds to make sure all Quality requirements are met.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
