Requirements

  • 5+ years of MIG welding experience with thick materials and structural components
  • Ability to read and interpret agile drawings and welding symbols
  • Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Proficiency in using air arc welding equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the mining industry or heavy fabrication environment
  • Familiarity with flux core and stainless steel welding techniques
  • Strong team player with a safety-first mindset

Responsibilities

  • Fitting & Assembly: Fit, align, and assemble large fabricated parts such as mining buckets, crushers, and chutes according to engineering drawings and specifications. Daily tasks include drilling holes, grinding, and forming parts as needed. Success means producing durable, precise assemblies that meet quality standards.
  • MIG Welding: Perform MIG welding on thick materials and structural components using 1/16th dual shield wire, including multi-pass vertical welds. Daily welding of large-scale mining equipment parts with a focus on structural repairs and modifications. Success is demonstrated by strong, defect-free welds passing inspection.
  • Mechanical Operation: Operate heavy-duty fabrication tools including grinders, cutting torches (oxygen and propane), and plasma cutters. Use air arc equipment effectively. Daily use of these tools to prepare and finish parts.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect welds and assemblies for compliance with blueprints and quality standards. Success is ensuring all work meets or exceeds specifications.

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel; primarily onsite work in Phoenix, AZ.
