About The Position

Crane Engineering is a family-oriented Midwest based company; with locations in Wisconsin and Minnesota. As a result of our growth, we have a need for a Welder. The Welder is responsible for the layout, fit-up, fabrication, and welding of process piping systems, structural components, and miscellaneous fabricated components. This role requires proficiency in pipe fitting, welding, and reading fabrication drawings while maintaining high quality standards for pressure-containing piping systems and structural components. What You’ll Do Demonstrate and promote Crane’s core values: Act with Integrity and Respect, Foster Teamwork, Focus on the Customer, Strive for Excellence and Innovation, Project Passion and Energy, and Have Fun. Pipe Fitting Lay out, measure, cut, thread, and assemble piping systems according to fabrication drawings and isometrics. Perform pipe fit-up for butt welds, socket welds, and threaded connections. Install valves, fittings, flanges, and instrumentation connections. Interpret P&IDs, spool drawings, and isometric drawings. Prepare pipe for welding including beveling, cleaning, and alignment. Welding & Fabrication Perform high-quality welding using processes such as: GTAW (TIG); GMAW (MIG); SMAW (Stick); FCAW (Flux-core) as required Weld process piping, flat bar, plate, and miscellaneous structural components used in skid fabrication. Fabricate and weld pipe supports, brackets, and mounting structures. Produce welds meeting project specifications and applicable codes. Conduct visual inspection of welds and perform repairs when required. May perform other duties as assigned. Requirements What We’re Looking For

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in industrial welding and/or pipe fitting
  • Experience welding pipe and structural materials such as tubing, flat stock, and plate
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs
  • Proficiency with TIG and MIG welding processes
  • Strong layout and measurement skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certified welder per American Welding Society standards
  • Experience with stainless steel and carbon steel piping
  • Experience working in a skid fabrication or industrial equipment manufacturing environment
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience
