About The Position

This position is in Northstar’s Welding Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position. The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time. Responsible for the efficient, timely, and economical accomplishment of assigned weld work. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Must be certified to AWS D17.1.
• 5 years’ recent experience in welding of complex sheet metal aerospace fabricated hardware
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Must be professional, punctual and reliable
• Must be able to read and write
• Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Understand Shop 5S per established Schedule and additional 5S activities as required
• Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing and seeing
• Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds
• Frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
• Occasional sitting, writing and typing
• Visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of product and/or parts
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles
• Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
• The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
