The individual is responsible for fabricating and assembling skid frames and related system components in a clean manufacturing environment. This role supports the build of bioprocess systems and assists with other manufacturing and facility support activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate from a 1-year welding program with emphasis on TIG welding.
  • 2–3 years of fabrication and welding experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, fittings, flow meters, and other skid-mounted components preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and compare vendor drawings to SolidWorks models for accuracy.
  • Familiarity with commonly used fabrication tools and shop equipment.
  • Basic Microsoft Office and Outlook skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to shop noise, welding fumes (with appropriate PPE), and standard production floor conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with stainless steel and sanitary welding strongly preferred.
  • Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane safely (certification preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding of frames, hangers, and structural components.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Use SolidWorks models to determine dimensions and accurately locate, mount, and verify component placement.
  • Fabricate brackets, hangers, and tubing assemblies; modify frames as required.
  • Install tubing, mount pumps, valves, flow meters, and other components on skidded systems under supervision.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, welding equipment, and grinding/polishing equipment.
  • Assist in skid assembly activities, including leveling skids, staging materials from Bill of Materials (BOM), planning builds, and executing subassemblies.
  • Run Polyflow air lines, pull electrical cables, and apply labels with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and GMP standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane safely (certification preferred).
  • Identify opportunities for process and fabrication improvements and communicate suggestions to leadership.
  • Prepare systems for shipment, including cleaning and wiping down completed assemblies.
  • Perform cleaning and 5S activities as directed by the Production Manager or Engineering team.
  • Support general manufacturing and facility maintenance activities as needed.
