About The Position

The Welder uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products and to perform general shop duties to support the build of Heat Transfer Products. In addition, this role must follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams. This position reports to the Mechanical Supervisor and is located in Niles, Illinois. Requirements

Position typically expects three (3) to five (5) years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of the position
Have welding knowledge using a MIG and TIG welder
Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and check results for accuracy
High School Diploma or GED
Accurately interpret measuring equipment
Understand safety regulations and protocols
Must be legally able to work in the United States
Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with power tools preferred

Responsibilities

Grind, sand, weld and fabricate
Assemble and or build piping per engineered specs
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Determine appropriate welding techniques
Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces
Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
Complete jobs in timely manner
