About The Position

Safely and efficiently use welding and shop equipment such as power supplies, wire feeders, voltage and current controls, welding helmet, welding guns, measuring tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures, and other miscellaneous hand tools Ability to operate overhead crane, fork truck, and hand jack to move supply parts to working areas Load and position parts to fixtures and close clamps to hold parts securely Set weld equipment controls for proper current and voltage depending on the materials to be welded Maintain safety standards and operate safety equipment Fluent in reading prints and other instructions Weld parts per print to meet customer and quality requirements Solve operational problems as required to reduce cost and increase quality Perform routine maintained as required and inform supervisor of possible problems that may need to be addressed Prepare requisitions for materials and supplies when needed Complete work order, quality date and clerical functions as required Maintain clean, orderly, and safe workstation Design and build weld fixtures when required Experienced with materials such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel Efficiently populate weld assemblies Ability to do layout work, weld in all directions, and do metal finishing as required

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex prints
  • Great at following directions
  • Fluent in weld symbols as well as welding techniques such as Tig, Mig, etc.
  • Ability to weld in all directions
  • Excellent understanding of decimals, fractions, and metric equivalations
  • Familiar with Aluminum and its properties
  • Maintain a Safe and clean workstation
  • Work well with others, as well as the ability to train new team members
  • Ability to use micrometers or calipers to check parts for quality
  • Two years’ welding experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in a production environment
  • Personal Protection Equipment Training (PPE), Global Harmonization System Training (GHS), Lock Out- Tag Out Training, (LOTO)
  • Tow Motor and Overhead Crane Certification
  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a production environment
