This individual will be responsible for performing high quality cuts and welds on gates, pressure vessels, cattle guards and structural steel assemblies. Working from engineering drawings, weld procedure specifications and fabrication schematics. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Fabricate, fit-up and weld pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, cattle guards, etc. Prepare weld joints to proper dimensions, including grinding, gouging and cleaning to ensure sound weld quality Weld structural and process piping in multiple positions Fit and tack pipe spools, install glanges, elbows, tees, and other fittings per drawings Fabricate and weld structural steel assemblies including frames, skids, platforms, ladders, handrails, brackets and supports Perform fit-up and assembly of structural members using squares, levels, clamps and fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracy Support hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and NDE activities as required Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks on completed work prior to QC inspection Maintain welder qualification records and perform continuity welds as required to keep qualification current Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environment Comply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees.
