About The Position

This individual will be responsible for performing high quality cuts and welds on gates, pressure vessels, cattle guards and structural steel assemblies. Working from engineering drawings, weld procedure specifications and fabrication schematics. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Fabricate, fit-up and weld pressure vessels, structural steel assemblies, gates, cattle guards, etc. Prepare weld joints to proper dimensions, including grinding, gouging and cleaning to ensure sound weld quality Weld structural and process piping in multiple positions Fit and tack pipe spools, install glanges, elbows, tees, and other fittings per drawings Fabricate and weld structural steel assemblies including frames, skids, platforms, ladders, handrails, brackets and supports Perform fit-up and assembly of structural members using squares, levels, clamps and fixtures to ensure dimensional accuracy Support hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and NDE activities as required Perform visual weld inspections and dimensional checks on completed work prior to QC inspection Maintain welder qualification records and perform continuity welds as required to keep qualification current Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environment Comply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees. Follow directions of the Supervisor Arrive for work before your scheduled shift, prepared and ready to start work. Other job duties, as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Applicant must be 18 years or older.
  • Must pass a weld test.
  • Must be able to read measurements and perform basic math for measurements and tolerances
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend and perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
  • Report to work as scheduled
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong work relations with team
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Works well as a productive and collaborative member of a fabrication team
  • Excellent Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as production schedules or customer demand
  • Must be able to build trust and promote a positive safety culture
  • Must be able to life 75 lbs and hand physical demanding work
  • Must be adaptable to changing field conditions and operational demands
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening, participate in the random testing pool and remain drug & alcohol free throughout employment
  • Must pass a motor vehicle record check and background check
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklift/crane preferred.
