General Job Description Dogwood Industries is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Team in Sedro-Woolley. A successful candidate will be able to efficiently and accurately weld steel assemblies from plans, specifications, and quality control hold points, perform simple fittings, and process complex parts for assembly. A successful candidate must be able to understand written and verbal instructions while following dimensional and welding drawings and produce production quality welds within a given process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
  • 3+ years of experience welding or trade school education
  • Certified welder holding current WABO or AWS certification (FCAW)
  • Skillful operation of most non-specialized metal working equipment
  • Understands and applies visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work checks

Responsibilities

  • Welding competency in all positions
  • Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS
  • Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code
  • Utilizes jigs and fixtures where appropriate
  • Performs basic fitting work as instructed
  • Places welds of proper size, spacing and sequence per work instruction
  • Ability to read and understand shop plans, blueprints and work orders
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
