About The Position

Chief Buildings is currently seeking Welders to join the Chief team. This is a second shift position. These positions perform GMAW processes in accordance with AWS structural welding code specification including D1.1 and D1.3 .

Requirements

• Understanding of the Mig welding process
• Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and other data sheets for final weld assembly
• Basic welding skills including torch, grinding, and air arching

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma, or GED, preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties in safe and efficient manner, utilizing required safety equipment.
• Keeps work area neat and orderly.
• Reports unsafe conditions to supervisors
• Maintains compliance to all quality control procedures and standards.
• Maintain qualifications in accordance with company required AWS certifications
• Meet or exceed the minimum 85% UT pass ratio requirements
• Responsible for machine setup and routine maintenance
• Capable of performing all processes in the operation, including overhead crane and material handling
• Properly complete all routine paperwork and computer data entry related to the job responsibilities
• Capable of working with minimal supervision
