This IC/Welder Position’s primary job function is to repair pipelines, structures, and equipment using welding as the primary means of repair.

Requirements

  • Pre-employment Requirement Successful completion of a formal Welding Training Program and/or 5 years Industrial Welding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install structures, pipelines, brackets, pipeline repair patches, etc.
  • Make repairs and fabrications based on oral or written instructions, piping specifications, self-taken fielded measurements, sketches or blueprints.
  • Operate all welder specific tools and general shop tools as required to safely complete work.
  • Safely perform other maintenance non-welder related tasks such as changing valves, pipe fittings, etc.
  • Utilize the maintenance work process to complete work.
  • Provide daily job progress to scheduler and routine feedback to planner to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Learn, follow, and occasionally create and update applicable procedures to ensure that all jobs are completed in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Occasionally create or update procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for knowledge and use of all area and job specific safety equipment.
  • Perform daily housekeeping activities in order to maintain a safe and environmentally sound workplace.
  • Assist with training of new employees.
  • Complete all training requirements as determined by site needs.
  • Industrial Craftsman (IC) role - Perform other non-Welder maintenance work you are trained for and can execute safely.
  • Actively support and participate in programs to continuously improve plant operations through problems solving teams, etc.
  • Actively support plant and corporate HESS safety programs, objectives, and expectations.
  • Follows the Ludington Guiding Principles.
  • Must be able to work with others in a self-directed workforce environment. Teamwork is an essential competency.
  • Supports the Food Safety Program and Quality Program.
  • Adheres to FDA requirements.
