About The Position

The Welder has primary responsibility for MIG & TIG welding of aluminum and steel (also, stainless steel) parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area. The role involves performing welding tasks based on product needs, interpreting project plans and blueprints, ensuring quality control, and performing de-burring and grinding as necessary. The Welder is also expected to conserve resources and adhere to welding safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices

Nice To Haves

• Welding certification
• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG & TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required
• Other duties as assigned
