About The Position
Freedom Waterworks is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Welder to join our fabrication team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin or grow their career in welding within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Entry-Level Welder will assist with basic welding, material preparation, and general shop duties while learning industry standards and safety practices.
Requirements
- 0–2 years of welding or fabrication experience (or technical school training preferred)
- Basic understanding of welding techniques and tools
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, heat exposure)
Nice To Haves
- Welding certification (or currently pursuing)
- Experience in a fabrication shop or industrial setting
- Familiarity with ductile iron, carbon steel, or pipe systems
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic welding tasks (MIG, stick, or TIG) under supervision
- Prepare materials for welding (cutting, grinding, cleaning)
- Read and interpret simple drawings and measurements
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Support fabrication of ductile iron, steel, and piping components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE requirements
- Assist senior welders and supervisors with daily production tasks
